Our Commitment to Privacy
The Privacy Act (the Act) and the National Privacy Principles regulate the way organisations deal with personal information about individuals including the way information is collected, used, disclosed and provided to third parties.
Experien respects the privacy of customers and acts to protect personal information in accordance with the Act and the National Privacy Principles. Experien collects and holds personal information on individual customers, guarantors and certain third parties. If you do not wish to provide us with certain personal information we may be unable to accept your application for credit or to guarantee credit or provide related services to you.
Access and Accuracy
You may request access to your personal information that is held by Experien by contacting the Customer Service Officer on 1300-131-141. Where we incur a cost in copying and retrieving documents and files, we may pass this cost on to you. We make every effort to ensure the accuracy of any personal information we hold. If you believe of know that information we hold about you is incorrect, out of date or incomplete, please contact the Customer Service Officer and we will make all reasonable efforts to correct the information.
Collecting Information
We collect personal information from you when you apply for credit or apply to guarantee credit and when you otherwise provide us with information. The information enables us to process your applications, administer credit facilities and market our products directly or through our associated suppliers.
Wherever possible we collect information directly from you. However, in certain cases we collect personal information from third parties. For example we may need to collect personal information from a credit reporting agency or a representative or an agent such as an accountant, solicitor, financial advisor, or employer or from publicly available information. Wherever possible this will only be done with your authorisation or where this is not possible we will inform you when such information is collected.
We do not generally collect ‘sensitive personal information' as defined by the Act. However, we may on occasion collect information relating to your health and professional association membership. Such information will only be collected from you and will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected.
Use and Disclosure of Information
Personal information is used and disclosed for the purpose for which it is collected or for related purposes. Related purposes may include:
In providing products and services to you it may be necessary for us to provide your personal information to other organisations with whom we conduct business. We do not disclose sensitive personal information to third parties without your permission or instruction.
Other organisations include: associated suppliers; related entities; solicitors and legal advisors; accountants and auditors; printers and mailing services; insurers and mortgage insurers; collection agencies; valuers; financial planners; our agents and contractors; and organisations undertaking due diligence enquiries of our organisation.

We record information in both paper and electronic form. The security of your personal information is important to Experien and we take steps to protect it from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or unauthorised disclosure. The way we do this includes;
