Advertising guidelines for Doctors and Dentists

The Guidelines for advertising a regulated health service have been developed jointly by the National Boards who completed a review of the advertising guidelines in 2020.

The guidelines have been developed to help practitioners and other advertisers understand their obligations when advertising a regulated health service. Doctors and dentists are regulated health practitioners and these guidelines apply to them.

Section 4.4.1 of the Guidelines covers the topic of Images and photographs including the use of “Before and After” images.

Please note that professional indemnity insurance may not offer defense coverage in this regard.
