The 2016/17 AHPRA Annual Report was released in Nov 2017 and has shown that :
– 111,166 medical practitioners are registered with AHPRA
– 3,617 notifications were lodged with AHPRA about medical practitioners
– 17.3% resulted in accepting an undertaking or conditions being imposed on a medical practitioner’s registration
– 11% resulted in a medical practitioner receiving a caution or reprimand by the Board
– 0.6% resulted in suspension or cancellation of registration
– 76.3% resulted in no further action being taken
– Most of the remaining 4.7% were retained by a health complaints entity
