Insurance For Blood Borne Diseases For Medical Professionals

Some life insurers offer a feature whereby a lump sum will be paid to medical professionals who are accidentally infected by a specified blood-borne disease at work.

The terms will differ depending on the insurer but one insurer offers a lump sum benefit of between $50k and $1m.  Subject to the terms of the policy, they will pay a benefit if you are a medical professional who becomes infected with HIV or the Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C virus as the result of an accident during the course of your regular occupation.
