In October 2022, the Financial Services Council in Australia released details of research covering several aspects regarding life insurance.
Amongst the research were observations that :
* In total, there is an estimated 1 million Australians who are underinsured for Death/Total Permanent Disability insurance
and
* 3.4 million Australians who are underinsured for income protection insurance.
