Medical and Dental Practice And Business Insurance

Most dental practices and doctor practices/surgeries will hold a business insurance policy to protect their practice from property damage, or liabilities arising from incidents – like a patient accidentally hurting themselves on the premises.

One optional feature that business insurance policies offer is an extra cost coverage for the risk that important equipment may break down (excluding wear and tear). Whilst some pieces of machinery may be covered under a manufacturer’s warranty, this only applies for limited periods of time (eg a few years) and some warranties may only cover a limited range of matters that could go wrong.  Machinery breakdown insurance can provide cover to replace or repair (each policy and insurer may have different terms and practices in this regard) important pieces of machinery (such as a dental chair or autoclave) should they suffer a break down and should this not be covered under warranty.
